Road Department

The Pike County Road Department manages the county’s Road and Bridge system. Activities include all necessary work related to the design, construction, and maintenance of the county’s roads and bridges. Management of this system is done through the unit system, a system by which the County Commission employs a County Engineer who supervises and directs the daily operations of the county’s Highway Department. Presently, the county’s road and bridge network consists of 467 miles of paved roads, 293 miles of unpaved road, and 140 bridge structures.

The County Engineer is also responsible for regulating the subdivision and development of land in the county’s unincorporated areas. All division of land is subject to the county’s Subdivision Regulations. These regulations may be viewed and printed from this website or purchased at the Pike County Engineer's Office. Click here to view these regulations.
